Guided Prayers

God, you know my pain and the trauma that has become part of my story. I release to you all of this pain and every memory where it is stored. Walk through these memories with me and enable me to see them from your perspective. Pour your healing into every wound so they no longer control my past, my present, or my future. You promised to heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds.  I invite you on my journey to lead me into pathways filled with healing, peace, and new life. 

God, I am struggling to release the hurt, and any anger, resentment, or bitterness that I hold against those who wounded me. I know that letting it go also sets me free but I am having a difficult time in the release. I entrust to you those who I cannot forgive. Please God, in this handing over to you, may I be freed of the bondage and chains to the past that this unforgiveness has created in my mind and in my life choices. I trust you in these matters because you are always a fair and just judge. I allow you to take charge of those who wounded me and deal with them on your terms. God, help me to release them to you so I will no longer be chained by unforgiveness and I can finally move on.

God, I am weighed down by the fears and anxiety that I live every day. I have no safe space to relax because I am always on alert. Past events cause me to fear what might happen each and every day. These events harmed me and created this overwhelming fear within me. I was powerless to control these events and was powerless to stop the harm and wounds they caused me in body, mind, and spirit. But God, you promise to shelter me in the shadow of your wings and to protect me from evildoers. You are with me when I draw close to you and ask you for protection. You promise to help me, strengthen me, and enable me to do all things in You. God, I trust you to do for me what I cannot do for myself. I turn all things over to you. Help me to trust you more and more each and every day. Open my eyes to how you are working in my life. 

God, you know the relationships in my life that are fractured and cause me the most pain. I turn all of these relationships over to you. Today, I pray for myself and for those whom I am separated. God I desire to have a healing of these relationships, that we may be a loving support to each other. God help me to see when I need to act and when I need to sit and pray. I know God that you are already working in our lives because I have invited you to repair the damage that has been done. Your love brings people together and heals when relationships have been torn. You experienced betrayal, misunderstandings, and failures from those closest to you, but you remained loving. May I be able to love as you love and trust you to do the rest.  

God, I have been taught about you by others and through life experiences. This may not have always led to the truth about who you are, what you have done, and what you desire from me. You created me and you love me. Open my eyes to truly see you and then open my heart to a deeper relationship with you. Draw me nearer to you every day. May my love for you increase and obstacles to a more intimate relationship with you be removed. May I clearly hear your voice and rejoice in the truth of who you really are and not who I believed you to be. 

God, I desire to follow you and to answer the call that you have placed on my life. I ask forgiveness for the times that I have failed to follow you and have gone on my own path, rejecting your call or allowing fear to separate me from the path you have chosen for me. Help me to love you more and more and the people who you have entrusted to my care.  God may your will be done in my life, without me counting the cost...but only for love of you.
